Welcome to Restomod Racing. This site is about my 1965 Mustang 2+2. I named her Restomod because she is a restoration with modification. Take Resto from restoration and add Mod from modification and you have Resto-mod.
Back to Resto, to give you a little background on this car, I bought it used in 2003. At the time I had a 64-1/2 black Mustang Coupe. A gentleman from back east claimed it was his fathers and wanted to buy it. I agreed and set out to find a replacement. Since I always had a preference for the fastbacks, I set out to find one. My search led me to a gentleman near where I lived. As I rounded the corner towards his house, I spied a beautiful red Mustang. The car looked very good as the body was straight and it had a fresh coat of red paint. The interior was going to need some TLC, but for the most part, looked OK. I knew from the get go the drive train would be replaced with the one that currently lived in my coupe so the condition of the current did not matter to me. We struck a deal on the price and off I drove with my dream car. You will see that what you see is not always what you get.
I hope you enjoy the transformation of Restomod, my restored and modified 65 Mustang 2+2. As you know, it went through the changes over a course of years. Over the years, I kept on changing my mind as to what I wanted from Resto. Sit back and cruise along as I show you the changes and how to do them yourself.
